Gift cards

Buy NinjaBuy credit for someone else, send it by email, and redeem a code into your balance.

A NinjaBuy gift card is balance credit in Chinese yuan (CN¥) that you buy for someone else, or for yourself to hand over later. It comes as a code. Whoever adds the code to their account first gets the whole amount in their balance.

Buying one

Open Gift cards, pick an amount from CN¥67 to CN¥5,000, and choose Add to cart or Buy now. A gift card sits in your cart like any item, so you can buy it on its own or together with things from Taobao in one checkout. Each card is its own line: to send two people a card, add two.

Gift cards are not taxed, and no service fee, promo code or tip applies to them. Paying in a currency other than CN¥ adds the usual currency conversion fee, as for any payment. A cart with a gift card in it is paid by card or PayPal: your balance can't be used for that checkout.

To send it, add their email address. You can add their name, your name and a short message, and we email them the code once your payment goes through. Leave the email empty to keep the code and give it yourself.

Your gift cards appear on the order in Orders, with the code, a button to copy it, and whether it has been redeemed.

If you pay by bank transfer, the card is issued when the money arrives, which can take a few business days.

Redeeming one

Go to Balance and choose Redeem, then type the code. Capitals, spaces and dashes don't matter. The whole amount lands in your balance at once, and the code can't be used again.

What the credit can do

Gift card credit pays for items and shipping, like any balance. It can't be withdrawn to a card or bank account, and it doesn't expire.

A code works once. Treat it like cash: anyone who has it can redeem it, and we can't move credit back once it has been redeemed.
